PROJECT SUMMARY, OBJECTIVES, ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS EXPECTED / ACHIEVED 

The Portuguese Foundry Association, hereinafter referred to as APF or Association, develops the project “Capacitation of the Foundry Sector: a transition to a circular and digital economy”, with a total investment of 243.233,3 € (including VAT) and duration of 18 months.

The Association proposes to promote qualified and innovative actions, so that SMEs understand the evolution of industry needs arising from the challenges caused by the technological change affecting the sector, as well as project their productivity, improving their business strategies. This way, the Association outlines an action plan consisting of six key activities, namely:

• Activity 1 - Training Manual – Good Management Practices and Quality;
• Activity 2 - Promotion of Circular Economy Strategies in the Foundry Industry through intersectoral industrial symbioses with ceramic construction products;
• Activity 3 - Energy Analysis – Energy Rationalization Plan – Foundry Sector;
• Activity 4 - Technological challenges (industry 4.0) and access to finance;
• Activity 5 - Communication and Dissemination of Results;
• Activity 6 - Monitoring and Project Management.
